Panaji: Goa to Tie Up with French City on Tourism Initiatives

Panaji, Jun 8 (PTI) Goa tourism department is planning to tie up with Nice, a picturesque city in France, to provide better facilities to tourists visiting the state capital.

The tie-up would be done in specific areas such as rapid transportation system and solid waste treatment.

Both the cities will collaborate on these issues on a time-bound programme, senior officials said.

Confirming the development, Goa Tourism director Swapnil Naik said that the state is definitely keen on partnering with France on this initiative.

"We have invited a technical team from Nice, to study the conditions in Goa and to chalk out a feasible plan for execution."

In the meantime, Goa is doing its ground work and planning. "In the coming weeks, we will be discussing the modalities of the exchange programme with the Commissioner of the City of Panjim (CCP)," Naik said.
