Will Train Nationalists, Not Maoists: Ramdev

Haridwar, June 9 (IANS) Defending his statement of building an army to tackle any future police crackdown, yoga guru Baba Ramdev Thursday said that his statement was taken in the wrong context and that he was not training Maoists, but nationalists.

"I am not training naxals or Maoists but people who will fight for this country," Ramdev told reporters here. "People should not take my statement in the wrong context."

On Wednesday, Ramdev had said that he would build an army of 11,000 men and women and 'shaastra' (vedic education) and 'shastra' (arms training) would be imparted to them.

"Twenty youths from each region (of the country) will come forward for the fight against corruption," he said.

Clarifying his stand, Ramdev said that he was going to train youths not to kill people or get killed.

Thursday is the sixth day of a hunger strike Ramdev began in New Delhi to protest against mounting corruption in the country. Police evicted him from the capital after June 4 midnight.

    Good Work BABA in every indian house you will find 1 person for this great work i.e shaastra' (vedic education) and 'shastra' (arms training)instead of 20 it should be 200 from each region. JAI HIND BHARATH MATA KI JAI.......... honestly as annaji told this is second INDEPENDENT we need to fight from Government.

    Baba, I support you in your crusade. Let the movement be secular, inclusive and apolitical. It should consist of all sections of the society...Let no fundamental organisation or party own credits to this movement..Lets not saffronise the issue...If we get our stolen wealth back, then our own country becomes rich and we can be debt free and an average Indian would become rich.....The credit should go to the people and Ramdev and not to a single organisation or party...The moment its politicised, then lot of others will try to sabotage the movement, devide the issue and opinion. Lets all as Indians stand against the corruption and communualism, both are dangerous, without any political affiliations and ideologies...

    11000 IS NOT ENOUGH. WE WILL JOIN YOU. MAKE A SENA OF ATLEAST 11 CRORE PEOPLE.

    NEED OF THE HOUR IS FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION & BRINGING BLACK MONEY IN INDIA.

    THIS TWO SMALL ISSUES ARE NOT ABLE DIGEST BY ITALIAN LED UPA.

    ITALIAN LED UPA IS HAVING WILL & COURAGE TO ATTACK INNOCENT WOMEN & CHILDRENS AT MIDNIGHT WHILE THEY ARE ALL IN DEEP SLEEP.
