Kaup: Young photographer injured in road accident succumbs to injuries

Kaup, Feb 10: Young photographer Preethesh Suvarna (38), a resident of Polipu near here, who was severely injured five days ago, after the scooter on which he was riding pillion skidded, succumbed to injuries on the Thursday February 9 at Udupi district hospital.

Preethesh is survived by parents, wife and three year old daughter. Preethesh used to go for fishing at Malpe whenever he found time off from his photography profession. On February 4 evening, he was riding pillion with his friend Prashant Kumar on his scooter. The scooter skidded and both fell on the road. While rider Prashant escaped with minor injuries, Preethesh was severely injured. He was in ICU for five days and died on Thursday.

Preethesh was the only son of his parents. He married four years ago after a love affair. He was supporting his wife even after marriage to pursue her education. She is pursuing her final BA in government first grade college at Kaup. The couple have a three-year-old daughter.

Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, BJP leaders Suresh P Shetty Gurme, Yashpal Suvarna and several other eminent leaders have expressed their condolences on the death of Preethesh.

Preethesh was a young and creative photographer. He was life member of South Kanara Photographers’ Association and office bearer of Kaup zone unit. He was involved in various local organizations including Polipu Ganeshotsava committee.
