Puttur artist Ramprasad wins national logo contest, receives Rs 50,000 award

Puttur, Jun 30: Ramprasad K, an artist from Puttur, received the award and a cash prize of Rs 50,000 after emerging as the winner of the national logo design competition organised by the Union Ministry of Rural Development to promote awareness of the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Grameen) – VBGRAM-G Act.

The award was presented on Monday at the National Rural Development Conference 2026 held at Pusa in New Delhi by union minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Karnataka Rural Development minister Eshwar Khandre, rural development ministers from various states, and senior officials from the union and state governments were present on the occasion.

As part of educational and communication activities to create awareness about the provisions and objectives of the VBGRAM-G Act, 2025, the ministry, in collaboration with My Bharat and MyGov, had organised the nationwide '60 Seconds for My Village' Reel/Video Challenge, Viksit Bharat–VBGRAM-G Quiz 2026, and a digital logo design competition. Ramprasad's logo design was selected as the winning entry in the logo competition. He travelled to New Delhi at the government's expense to receive the award.

A total of 7,233 participants from across the country took part in the logo competition, with Ram Prasad being one among them. A graduate in Visual Arts, he received information about the competition only a few days before it was scheduled to close. The original submission deadline had already passed by the time he began working on the design. However, after the deadline was extended by four days, he redesigned his logo to make it more impactful and submitted the revised version. His logo, which captures the essence of employment, empowerment, and holistic rural development, was chosen for the prestigious award.
