Kerala: Youth Sent 10,000 Dirty Messages

Thiruvananthapuram, June 12 : Police has arrested a youth hailing from Pandalam in Pathanamthitta district for making unsolicited telephone calls and sending malicious SMS messages to several women within the state and outside.

Police sources identified the youth as Saleesh Kumar, 27, an engineering graduate. He was traced by the sleuths of the cyber police station here.

Sources said that Saleesh Kumar had made more than 7,000 unsolicited calls and sent over 10,000 SMS messages with malicious contents to the mobile phones of about 200 women over the last few months.

He also used to abuse those who warned him against this. Even a police officer who tried to contact him as part of the investigation was abused and challenged by the youth.

The cyber police has found that Saleesh was making the calls and sending SMS messages using a mobile phone connection taken in the name of another woman.

Investigations revealed that the original subscriber of the phone had handed over the SIM card to one of her friends several months back.
