Kochi, June 12 (IANS) "The King and The Commissioner", billed as one of the biggest projects in the Malayalam film industry, has been creating a buzz because of the big names attached to it. But superstar Mammootty, who will start shooting for the film here Monday, is not so excited and says for him, it's just a job.
The film has been in the news because it has brought two big actors - Mammootty and Suresh Gopi - together as also it sees director Shaji Kailas collaborating with scriptwriter Renji Panicker after a gap of 16 years.
"I am a professional and for me every film that I work in gets equal importance and hence there is neither excitement nor apprehension when I begin a new film because I do my job," said Mammootty, who has returned after a month-long break in Europe and the US.
The film's title has been coined after joining two superhits - "The King" and "The Commissioner". Mammootty played lead role in the former and the latter featured Suresh Gopi.
"Yes, as the name of the film suggests, it is taking forward two characters of films 'The King', which I played many years back and 'The Commissioner' where Suresh Gopi featured. Apart from both of us, the film has a huge star cast," said Mammootty.
In "The King and The Commissioner", Mammootty dons the role of IAS officer Joseph Alex, while Suresh Gopi will appear as IPS officer Bharath Chandran.
"Looking back into the earlier film where I played the role of a collector, over the years that character has moved to Delhi and holds a high post. After one round of shooting here, the shooting shifts to Delhi and then to one or two big metros," said Mammootty.
Shaji Kailas and Renji Panicker's previous hits include "Doctor Pasupathy", "Thalasthanam", "Sthalathe Pradhana Payyans" and "Ekalavyan".
The new film will hit the screens later this year.
