Sullia, Feb 23: The operation to catch wild elephants that are creating menace in various parts of Kadaba continued on Wednesday also.
The team went to Aithur of Sullia based on the information that the tuskers had entered some farmland and destroyed the crop. A tusker was found in the rubber plantation of Azana in Aithur. Five trained elephants were used to tame the tusker. The team of doctors also went near the elephant and tried to shoot anaesthetic injection, but the aim missed both times.
As the team of trained elephants and mahouts tried to tame the tusker it resisted ferociously and ran into the forest. It also tried to attack the operation team. Later, the trained elephants were brought to the Peradka camp.
Two wild elephants are noticed to be in the vicinity by the operation team. The operation is slated to continue on Thursday.
It is said that the presence of public in the operation area is causing a setback to the effort of catching the wild elephants. It is said that the wild elephant is changing the route as it comes across a huge gathering of public.
Meanwhile, miscreants are misleading the public on social media by posting an old video of catching a wild elephant that was carried out somewhere else and saying that it is from Kadaba.
