Illegal sand mining den raided in Kundapur; two tipper lorries, sand seized

Udupi, Feb 24: The department of geology and mining under the guidance of their senior scientist Sandeep G U raided an illegal mining den at Bharatkal in  Shankaranarayana limits, in Kundapura taluk in the morning on Friday, February 24 and seized two lorries from the spot.

Members of the public had complained to the department about illegal sand mining. A police case in this connection has been registered at Shankernarayana police station.

A press release from the department of geology and mining states that the custody of the lorries used for illegal transportation of sand and five metric tonnes of sand have been handed over to Shankaranarayana police station for further action.

    Police case at local police station, As if local police is not aware of the activity running there. Case has to be filed on corrupt police officers who has a deal with this people. Hafta 25000
