Udupi: 46-year-old fisherman dies as boat capsizes

Udupi, Feb 25: A fisherman died as the country boat capsized due to a huge sea wave at the estuarine entrance few nautical miles away from Hejamadikodi.

The deceased is identified as Padmanabha Suvarna (46), a resident of Hejamadi Kodi. He was on the country boat and left for fishing at around 3 am on February 23 from Hejamadykodi along with Dheeresh Bangera. As their boat reached the estuarine entrance, a huge wave struck the boat and it capsized. Dheeresh managed to swim to the shore.

Padmanabha’s mortal remains were found on Friday at Hejamadi Kodi. A case of unnatural death is registered in Padubidri police station.

    Well I was at Chitrapu HARVESTING PACHILEYS and I Saw People on Other side and later a Country Boat And A samll Fishing Boat Towed Behind and another boat was sailing towards Hejamadi ,small Port ,then later A samll ambulance came ,and I guessed it Ryt that something was Wrong , Om Shanti to Padmanabha Survana ,this Reminds me Of GURAPANNA ,Who Lost his Life During fishing near ESTUARY with his Relatives and Boat Capsized he tried to save his Relatives ,but lost his life in his Efforts OM SHANTI GURAPANNA , Fishing Can Be Hobby or Way of life But Our Safety is Priority and Every fisher men Should use Life Vest

    My heart goes out to the fishermen community who face dangers everyday to secure food for us.... When they set out into the sea return is never guaranteed even as they are expert swimmers... RIP to the departed soul.... May God console his dear and near ones....
