Bantwal: Forest, hill area fire at four places, situation brought under control

Bantwal, Feb 25: Fire was noticed at four different spots of the taluk on the hill and forest in the taluk on Friday February 24. Fire service personnel rushed to the spots and controlled the fire from spreading.

At Talapady, fire erupted and a huge area of grass along with bushes and thorns was burnt. At Modankap forest fire was noticed and bushes got burnt. The Sarapady hill area was burnt down due to fire. At Punjalakatte, fire erupted at a rubber estate and many trees were burnt down.

As there is only one fire engine at Bantwal, additional fire engines were rushed from Mangaluru and the fire at all four places was brought under control.

    govt full busy in elections..all other depts trying to make as much as possible before elections...no one to take care of law, order, fires...
