One of the reason is the concrete roads in and around Mangalore. There will surely be a difference without concrete roads, it would be better.

It's the untreated water from an open well situated in a clean, virgin rural setting; it will have all the natural minerals direct from the earth's womb! But it needs to be stilled for any impurities to settle down; for natural disinfection, it can be stored in an wide mouthed open vessel covered with a pure cotton thin cloth and kept in the blazing 🌞 (UV rays) for some hours before consumption! FYI, till a few decades ago, people used to directly drink water drawn from open wells without any treatment, but those times the surroundings were pristine with hardly any contamination! Gist of the message is that poor people have only this option to quench their thirst in the torrid summer! FYI, never drink borewell water as it contains a lot of heavy metal contamination, which is very detrimental to health!!

Mangalore has been experiencing intensle summers since some years due to environmental degradation and rampant concretization with global climate change adding to the heat! Peak summer the heat is unbearable this making it an inhospitable place from March till the onset of the monsoon!
