Moodbidri: Man blackmails using female voice, arrested

Moodbidri, Feb 26: A man who  used to call men in the name of Usha and make them fall into the trap and blackmail them was arrested at Suratkal in the city.

The fraudster called a man, employed in a company at Baikampady using the female voice and made a video call. He showed the private parts of a girl and blackmailed the receiver for money. He threatened him that he will make the video viral and asked for Rs 25,000.

Naveenchandra, a resident of Hosabettu and employed in Baikampady sent the fraudster Rs 2,000 through UPI. However, the fraudster did not end his blackmailing and asked for more money. Then Naveen filed a complaint with Suratkal police station.

Police arrested Dhananjay, a resident of Biravi of Moodbidri. He was produced in the court. Accused Dhananjaya who called Naveen in the guise of a female voice using the name Usha was granted bail by the court.
