Karkala: 43-year-old NRI dies after his motorcycle crashes into bus

Karkala, Mar 2: A man, employed in Bahrain, was killed, as his motorcycle rammed into a bus that was moving in front of him near Ammas Dhaba near Mujoor Goretti church on Karkala-Hirgana road on Wednesday March 1.

The deceased is identified as Manohar Poojary (43), a resident of Hirgana Kananji Hankarabettu. He was employed at Bahrain and had come to native place. He was supposed to return to Bahrain in a few days. In this connection, he had gone to Karkala to get physical fitness certificate. As he was returning after collecting the certificate, the tragedy occurred. Manohar is survived by wife and a college-going daughter.

The bus was moving from Karkala to Hebri. It has stopped to pick up passenger. As it was about to move, Manohar’s motorcycle crashed into the vehicle in the rear. Manohar received grievous injuries on his head. The road is straight one and does not have any turns and dangerous bends.

A case in this connection is registered in the city police station.

    Heartfelt condolences!! NRI's should be very careful riding two wheelers as they are out of touch in riding as normally they will be in native place after a year or longer. And middle aged should be extra cautious!
