Puttur: Mai De Deus Church celebrates annual Christian education day

Puttur, Mar 5: If we transform ourselves with the values of Christ, we can change the entire community. Fr Larry Pinto said. He was speaking at the celebration of 2022-23 Parish Catechism Day of Mai De Deus Church on March 5.

The celebration started with the Eucharistic celebration by Fr Larry Pinto, assistant director of Saint Antony Ashram, Jeppu. Parish priest Fr Lawrence Mascarenes, assistant parish priest Fr Kevin Lawrence DSouza concelebrated the Eucharistic celebration. A programme based on faith and morals were acted by children from class 1 to 12.

During the cultural programme St Philomena campus director Fr Stany Pinto, principal of St Philomena PU College Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Puttur parish council vice president Gerald D’Costa, secretary Evelyn D'Souza, 21 commission coordinator John D'Souza and members were present. Clement Pinto, Catechism coordinator welcomed, assistant parish priest Fr Kevin Lawrence D'Souza thanked all. YCS students Fiona and Jennifer compered the programme.

On this occasion, the students who secured first, second and third place in the examination were felicitated by Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas. The parish priest honored all the teachers by giving a small gift to all the teachers who helped in taking the Catechism classes with a selfless attitude. 

The programme was started with the breakfast at 9.30 am and ended with meal at 1 pm.
