Washington, Jun 18 (PTI) The US has said that its relationship with Pakistan is complicated but it is striving to continue the cooperation it has had with Islamabad.
"We strive to continue the cooperation that we have had with Pakistan. We engage at many levels with our counterparts in the Pakistani government, and we'll continue to do that," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said at his daily news conference.
Carney reiterated that the relationship with Pakistan is complicated but very important one for the United States.
"What I can tell you and say is what I've said in the past, that we understand that this is a complicated, complex relationship, but it is an important relationship," he said.
"Pakistanis have been partners often in the fight against terrorists. More terrorists have been killed on their soil than anywhere else," Carney said.
