Mangaluru, Mar 22: On the auspicious day of Ugadi, the Gurubeladingalu Foundation under the initiative of Padmaraj R along with other dignitaries handed over the renovated house to cooker blast victim and auto rickshaw driver Purushotham Poojary.

Addressing the gathering, MLC B Ibrahim said, "For many years, Gurubeladingalu Foundation has been helping the needy. We should support such a noble causes. Through Gurubeladingalu, they are reaching the downtrodden and the needy.
"Irrespective of caste and religion, they are striving for a noble cause. As harmony is declining in society, social works undertaken by Gurubeladingalu are very needful. We should remember that we are all one. Only then, we can lead a peaceful life and there will be peace in the society,” he said.
Fr J B Crasta said, "Narayana Guru preached about righteousness in the society. The same is also mentioned in the Holy Bible. We should always love our neighbours.”
He also congratulated the Gurubeladingalu Foundation for working towards a noble cause.
President of Gurubeladingalu Foundation Padmaraj R said, ''Gurubeladingalu came into existence to help the needy and downtrodden in the society. The foundation is helping poor students irrespective of caste. The foundation has provided scholarships worth over Rs 25 lac to the students.”
He also said that the government has not given a single paisa as compensation to Purushotham Poojary. “The medical expenses have been paid through his daughter's ESIC. Personally, a few representatives have helped but there is no compensation from the government. Usually, there will be expectations from the government when an innocent person like Purushotham Poojary faces such a situation.”
Dr Yousif Ali Kumble said, “Gurubeladingalu has contributed to a noble cause. The message of Narayana Guru is a role model to the society. People need to give importance to such noble causes.”
Rohan Monteiro of Rohan Corporation also spoke during the occasion.
