Contracts for construction of roads goes to people with power, money and connections. They are least qualified. They have site supervisors and engineers with least salary who do not question or apply what is in interest of the public. They are like howdu basava howdu, alla basava alla. I was surprised to see the barricades in highways. No country in this world places barricades in the middle of the highway. Highways are built for higher speed. Just because you have an internal road joining the highway you are risking lives of people who are travelling on highway. Someone rightly said here that unscientific roads. Unscientific roads, no sign boards, no rules, no street lights, no traffic beat police. Bas Alllah hi bachaaye.

Before humps about 10 metres some lines to be marked, so that drivers could take necessary precautions, and control the speed.

Forget about rural areas, within Mangalore city - the SMART City, most of the speed-breakers are not visible, as most of them are not painted and therefore cause lot of physical and vehicular damages on a daily basis. Only those who use the roads daily, know where the speed breakers are and therefore can avert mishaps.

Dear Mr Almeida (or who you really are), please know that there is no public transport (bus) on the road from Kateel towards Kallakumeru. It is fine for you to advise sitting in Andheri. For an ordinary person there is no other choice but take a two-wheeler. Hiring a taxi is beyond the reach of an anganavadi worker. Straightening and broadening the roads should be a better solution and not these unscientific humps and speed-breakers.

In that case, two wheeler's should have never been given permission to enter within Mangalore jurisdiction. There are umpteen two wheeler accidents in Bombay too. At this rate, people will have to travel on bullock carts.

Daily people are dying on our roads, and the government does not care. It is high time citizens groups should make it an election issue and see which candidates willing to do the needful in making our roads more safe.

Very sad. I feel many road humps do not have adequate warning signs. I feel the traffic authorities must sure that all road humps have good signs so that drivers can see that hump

Re think to give contract to road contractors who are not qualify basic knowledge of humps. Our public are watching while they making humps and keep quite. once any accidents then only start blaming on Govt. Indian mentality never change blame each other but no responsibility. Come out from shell and act like real Indian republic wright to oppose on wrong. if one person fight nobody support. If any give 90 ready till hangover. once tried to fight then own friends said are u mad ?.If you make one team to fight next day there is politics for chair. India never change.

This incident could definitely be avoided if the humps were firstly done according to standard and more importantly if the markings were proper. Nowhere are the markings visible and no one is bothered to take the necessary action. I don't know how we are a smart city or country

It's really a fault of our government. Roads are not properly marked. Humps are erected unscientific way. Raider can't notice from some distance. Proper reflecting painting to be done on humps.

It is the same story everywhere. Humps are not marked with paint after completion, hence humps are invisible during day or night. When the contractor build the hump on the road, paint marking should also include in the scope of work and same contractor should maintain it with marking for at least 5 years which should also include in the contract.
