Kundapur, May 5: A young man who had been to the lake to play with his friends has reportedly gone missing.

The missing person is Suhas M (21), son of Madthila Meeranath Gowda, a resident of Aivarnadu grama, Sullia taluk who had gone into the lake at Sauda, Bidkal Katte, here on Thursday, May 4, in the afternoon in the company of his friends.

Suhas was working as a medical representative for Moodbidri-based Ayurveda company. He had come from his home at Aivarnadu to Moodbidri on Friday morning. He had got down into the lake and was accidentally washed away. Youngsters who were accompanying him alerted the local residents. Congress leader Kanmakki Hariprasad Shetty informed the Kota police, Nithyananda Mundodi of Sullia and Suhas's relatives.

Fire fighters and diving experts rushed to the spot and launched a search for Suhas. A case has been registered at Kota police station. As the flow of water into the lake was high, the mortal remains of Suhas are likely to flow into the sea, police sources said.
