Summer holidays’ business idea: Uttara Kannada students make Rs 5000 per day by selling mangoes

Daijiworld Media Network – Uttara Kannada (MS)

Uttara Kannada, May 9: Children have found a unique way of earning money during summer holidays. They are earning a handsome income by selling mangoes which they bring directly from the mango orchards.

There is great demand for Karisishada, Appemidi and Neelam varieties of mangoes available in Ankola and Malnad regions.

Most of the agriculturists of Pala village in Mundugod, Uttara Kannada district depend on mango for their livelihood. However, they do not sell it to the market. They bring the same to the market themselves. They also sit under the trees and sell the mangoes. School going children also have summer holidays now. So they also sell the mangoes grown in their houses and support their parents.

Students sell mangoes sitting under the tree on state highway 69. They earn a minimum of Rs 5000 per day.

The bike riders and car drivers are made to stop their vehicles and buy the mangoes as the fragrance of the fruit attracts them towards these students who sell mangoes. Moreover, they are cheaper than the market. Neelam varieties of mangoes are sold at Rs 100 to 150 per kg, which is too less than the market rate.

On the whole it is mango time in Uttara Kannada now for both students who sell the mangoes and the commuters who pass by on state highway 69.

They make or sell mangoes worth RS 5000.00 by seeing the volume they may be selling the mango worth RS5000.00 and the profit margin may be 20 to 30 %. Make sence.
