Violation of code of conduct – Case filed against Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty

Byndoor, May 13: A person filed a complaint in Byndoor police station in which he has accused Byndoor BJP MLA Sukumar Shetty of campaigning for the BJP in social media without seeking permission from authorities.

Ganeshadasa Kharvi had filed a complaint on March 31 to the Election Commission. In his complaint, Kharvi said that Sukumar Shetty had put his photo on social media in which he wore a shawl having the picture of lotus, symbol of BJP and also posted some video clips campaigning in favour of the BJP.

The election officer asked for an explanation with Sukumar Shetty on the complaint raised against him. However, Sukumar Shetty did not bother to give any written explanation. So a complaint is filed by the election officer against Sukumar Shetty.

When election code of conduct is in implementation, permission of EC authority is essential to make any kind of campaigning for political parties of person.
