Chitradurga, May 16: In its election manifesto, the Congress party had assured that they will fulfil the five guarantees they promised to the people of Karnataka. One of them is free electricity up to 200 units. Though the chief minister’s selection is still not over, the villagers of Jalikatte in the district have refused to pay the electricity bill.
Bescom staff tried to convince the villagers that they need to pay the electricity bill till the order is issued by the government. However, the villagers are adamant. They are asking Bescom to speak to the government officials.
The video of villagers asking Bescom staff not to give them electricity bill henceforth has gone viral on social media.
