Chikkamagaluru, May 16: A lady conductor of a KSRTC bus has proven to be a savior for a pregnant woman who experienced labor pains while traveling on the bus. The conductor skillfully delivered the baby inside the vehicle, ensuring the safety of both the mother and the child, who are now in good health.

The pregnant woman was traveling on a KSRTC bus from the Bengaluru-Chikkamagalur route, which belonged to the Chikkamagalur unit of KSRTC. When the bus reached Udayapura, the woman started experiencing labor pains. With no nearby hospital in sight, tension began to rise among the passengers. It was then that Vasanthamma, the lady conductor of the bus, stepped in to help and successfully delivered the baby.

Vasanthamma promptly requested all passengers to disembark from the bus and assisted the woman in labor, ensuring a safe delivery.

Later, both the mother and child were taken to Shantigrama hospital. In addition to her heroic actions, the lady conductor also collected Rs 1500 and provided it to the financially disadvantaged woman for her emergency expenses.

The public and KSRTC officials have commended Vasanthamma for her timely act of humanity.
