Mangaluru: Absconding accused in gold ornaments theft case arrested

Mangaluru, May 18: An accused who was absconding since 2014 in a gold ornaments theft case was traced to Kaup in Udupi and produced in court by the police.

Manja (37), resident of Devi Nagara of Pacchanady is the accused arrested by police. 

He was accused in theft of 100 grams of golden ornaments in 2014. Police arrested Muniyamma, Sarasu, Laxmi, Gulabi and Manja in 2014 with regards to the case. However, Manja went underground after obtaining bail from the court.

Manja was arrested on May 15 by Bajpe police Station inspector Prakash and personnel PSI Poovappa, Guru Kanti, ASI Ramanna, Rohit, Jagadish and Sujan.
