Rs 30.5 lac unaccounted cash seized in Kasargod, one arrested

Kasargod, Jun 4: In an operation carried out by city police station personnel, Rs 30.50 lac unaccounted cash was confiscated at Nelkala near Vidyanagara.

Habeeb, resident of Chemnad, was arrested in this connection.

The matter came to light when the police team, led by DySP Sudhakaran was conducting vehicle checks at Nelkala. The money was hidden in the scooter. This is the third incident of black money transportation in the last 15 days.

On May 17, Rs 30 lac cash that was transported in a bike was confiscated at Chandragiri Road. Cherur residents M K Abdul Khader and Mahasoof were arrested in this case. On the same day, Rs 18.80 lac cash that was transported in a bike on Kotekani road was seized by the police. Nayarmoole resident M K Rehman was arrested in this connection.
