Mumbai, Jul 20: The metro-based Billavar Association of suburban Goregaon organized a function to distribute scholarships to community students and economically weaker general students in a function held at Lalit Hotel Crystal Hall, Goregaon (West), recently.
Jagannat Kotian, committee president, Billavar Association, Goregaon, presided over the programme.
Entrepreneur Sridar Poojary was the chief guest ofn the occasion.
Honorary secretary Sacchindra Kotian, in his introductory address, said that Billavar Association was founded in the metro 79 years ago by veterans of the community with the objective of helping poor students with financial assistance to carve out better futures.
The president Anantaram Sanil, Sadashiv Karkera, joint secretary Shankar D Poojary, U K Suvarna, and Vishwanath Tonse were present on the dais. Girija Poojary rendered the prayers. Vice-president L R Anchan welcomed the gathering. Honorary secretary Sacchindra Kotian compered the programme while Vishwanath Tonse proposed the vote of thanks.
