11 Killed, 89 Injured in China Rail Accident


Beijing, Jul 23 (IANS): Eleven people were killed and 89 others were injured when a bullet train derailed in eastern China Saturday night, Xinhua reported.

The accident occurred around 8.30 p.m. The train was on its way from Zhejiang provincial capital of Hangzhou to the southeastern city of Fuzhou.

Some of the coaches fell off a bridge.

"Rescuers have dragged many passengers out of the coaches," a witness told Xinhua over phone.
