Mangaluru: CCB police arrest Two for possession of MDMA narcotic drug

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Two individuals have been apprehended by the CCB police on charges of selling MDMA, a banned narcotic drug.

Acting on a specific tip-off regarding the illegal sale of MDMA near Guttakadu bus stand in Talippady village, Kinnigoli, Moodbidri taluk, ACP of CCB, P A Hegde, along with his team conducted a raid leading to the arrest of Kaushik Devadiga (26), a resident of Bhojaraj compound, Kadri New Temple Road, Mangaluru, and Mohammed Irshad, also known as Akudu (29), residing in Jalligudde Mane, Jayanagara, Bajal Post, Mangaluru.

During the operation, the police confiscated nine grams of MDMA, valued at Rs 45,000 in the market, along with two mobile phones and one digital weighing scale, with a combined worth of Rs 95,500. A case has been registered at Mulky police station.

It is worth noting that Kaushik has previous cases filed against him in Mangaluru East police station for Ganja consumption and mobile looting, while Mohammed Irshad has an attempted murder case registered against him in Ullal police station.

The successful operation was carried out by ACP of CCB, P A Hegde, police inspector Shyam Sundar H M, PSIs Rajendra B, Sudeep, Sharanappa, Narendra, and other personnel.
