Udupi: Bank cheated of Rs 11.88 lac by loan officer, complaint filed

Udupi, Jul 26: The branch manager of Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited, Sundar Shetty, has filed a complaint at Malpe police station against loan officer Dilip S S for cheating the bank of lacs of rupees.

The accused Dilip had promised women from poor families of getting them a higher amount of loan from Kidiyoor branch of the bank. The accused collected money upfront from the women saying that he would get them a higher amount of loan refinanced from the bank but did not remit the amount to the bank after collecting it from them. Instead, he used the money himself, it is learnt.

In the complaint, the bank has stated that Rs 11.88 lac of money was embezzled by the accused.
