Mangaluru: Manipal School hosts career guidance session

Mangaluru, Jul 28: Helping high school students explore potential career paths in commerce is crucial to their future success and fulfilment. Commerce encompasses a wide range of industries, including finance, accounting, marketing, economics and entrepreneurship.

As a part of the career guidance programme for grade X and XI, the Manipal School, Mangaluru had arranged a session for the students of grade X and XI so that they will be able to make informed decisions about their academic pursuits and career choices in the commerce field.

The guest speaker Prof Ravindra Shenoy, faculty member, Department of commerce, MAHE Manipal, provided insights into various conventional and professional courses available in the field of commerce. He elaborated on various career paths within commerce, shedding light on opportunities in accounting, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Students were introduced to conventional courses like BBA, B Com, IPM, and BMS, which are ideal for those seeking a comprehensive understanding of business and management principles. Additionally, they were made aware of various professional courses like CA, CPA, CIMA, CS, and ACCA, which offer specialized knowledge and skills. He also guided the students on how they can effectively prepare themselves for the challenges and demands of the corporate world.

Prof Ravindra Shenoy also addressed the commerce students of grade XI earlier that morning. He provided an overview of the diverse courses and specializations offered by MAHE in the field of commerce and the provisions available for students in the Scholarship for Academy of General Education and invited students for a campus visit to MAHE.

Students of grade X, Ayesha Leen compered the programme and Anakha Menon proposed vote of thanks. Trs Supreetha Shetty and Asha Shetty, academic coordinator Srilatha Alva and principal Anuradha Shivaram facilitated the programme.
