Mangaluru: Daijiworld24x7 TV's musical concert creates new history in Konkani music world

Mangaluru, Jul 31: The St Agnes Auditorium in the city was filled with Konkani music lovers and fans of 'Gayan Ani Gazali,' the Konkani TV show airing every Tuesday on Daijiworld24x7TV. It was a celebration of the 100th episode of Gayan ani Gazali held on Sunday, July 30, with the concept of a complete musical concert.

The packed audience at the venue was treated to a plethora of popular melodies penned by well-known lyricists and poets of Konkani. The entire musical extravaganza was planned and directed by the young and renowned music director Sanjay Rodrigues from Bejai.

The show commenced with a short stage program led by Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiwolrd Media Pvt Ltd.

Dais presentations included Fr Richard Coelho, director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions; Fr Denis D'Sa, PRO, Udupi Diocese; Eric Ozerio, Gurkar Mandd Sobhann; Sr Venessa, principal of St Agnes College; Wilfred Pinto, chairman of Manasa Amusement Park; Aravid Bolar; Vishwas Rebimbus; and Stany Fernandes from Oman. Alexis Castelino, director of Daijiworld24x7TV, welcomed the dignitaries with flower bouquets and mementos.

In his introductory note, Walter Nandalike thanked the audience and sponsors for their consecutive support towards Daijiworld Media. He said, "As a media organization in its 23rd year and as a TV channel about to complete its 10th year, our audience and advertisers have been the backbone of all our projects and shows. They have made us popular in Karnataka and beyond. We are deeply grateful to them. I also extend my thanks to the artists and the technical team for their efforts in designing TV programs and stage shows like this."

During his speech, he acknowledged all directors and heads of various departments at Daijiworld Media. He specifically recognized Praveen Tauro for his marketing efforts and thanked everyone for their dedication and commitment towards the organization.

Fr Denis D'Sa appreciated the social concern and media ethics upheld by daijiworld media. He specifically mentioned the efforts of daijiworld TV in providing a stage for budding artists through their various TV shows and stage performances.

In his signature style, Aravind Bolar congratulated daijiworld TV and the team of Gayan ani Gazali for completing one hundred episodes and expressed his wish for the show to continue with added flavors.

Prior the event the organisors paid tribute to Claud D'Souza, legendary musician who passed away last week. Melwyn Peris, veteran singer, composer paid homage to Claud with a new composition depicting the late singer's musical journey.

The directors of Daijiworld, Melwyn Rodrigues, Ronald Nazreth, and Kishoo Barkur, felicitated the sponsors with mementos. The anchors of Gayan Gazali, Rupal D'Souza, Hera Pinto, Shanthi Priya Lasrado, Adeline Pinto, and Santhosh Monteiro, were also honored with mementos.

Well-known Konkani singers Anil D'Sa, Joshal D'Souza, Zeena Pereira, Meera Crasta, Robin Sequeira, Sunil Monteiro, Velita Lobo, Jason Lobo, Clerita Lobo, Carol Sequeira, Ashwin Sequeira, Rynal Sequeira, Melroy Furtado, Annia Rodrigues, Samantha Mascarenhas, Ishney Kemmannu, Sonal Monteiro, Simone Monteiro and Sunil Monteiro enthralled the audience with their singing. The stars of the reality show 'Jigibigi Tharam,' Aldrin Pinto, Simone, Reon, Eva Periera, Ashna, Ania Deora, and Liana Lobo, received huge appreciation for their performance of the beautiful number 'Amcha Bapa' composed and sung by Wilson Olivera. Arya Dargalkar, winner of BiriBiri Pavs from Goa, recited a poem with a catchy tune and background music.

The backing vocal team was another highlight of the show. The team, led by Raina Sequeira and consisting of Ketan Castelino, Adeline Pinto, Dealle Bondel, Hayden, Neil Casmith, Sharon Rodrigues, and Verna D'Souza, provided a special treat to the audience with their unique blend of vocals and voices.

Along with Sanjay Rodrigues, Roshan Crasta Bela (guitar), Sanjeeth Rodrigues (drums), Prajwal Fronterio (trumpet), Stalin (bass guitar), Veekshith (percussion), Saji, Shaju, and Anoop (violin), played splendid music for the show.

The dancers from Urban Groove, owned by Avil D'Cruz, received tremendous applause from the crowd for their energetic and mind-blowing moves on stage.

On behalf of the entire Konkani music fraternity, Melwyn Peris, veteran composer, singer and Shilpa Cutinho, celebrity crooner congratulated the artistes and organisors.

Known TV anchor Komal Jenifer D'Souza compered the event with class narration and prompt time management.

The show director, writer Stany Bela, designed the show in a highly professional manner.
