Byndoor, Jul 31: A boat accident occurred on Monday, July 31 evening, at Karkikali in Uppunda's Madikal of Byndoor taluk killing one person.

Sachin Kharvi's country boat capsized while returning to the shore after a fishing trip. Sadly, Satish, who was on the boat, is currently missing. Nagesh Kharvi who sustained serious injuries was promptly rushed to the hospital. However, he succumbed without responding to treatment,

Local sources report that the remaining passengers have managed to reach the shore safely. All the fishermen involved in the incident are residents of Karkikali in Uppunda village.

Byndoor tahsildar Srikanth Hegde, Circle Inspector Santosh Kaikini, Fire Brigade, Coast Guards, Kundapur assistant director of fisheries Sumalatha, diver Dinesh Kharvi and team, Byndoor Country Boat Fishermen's Association president Anand Kharvi Uppunda and other organizations were present at the scene.
