I know Mohan Amin since our first project Kunil Complex started in 1987 in Mangalore. He logistic company Vijaya Vahini was supplying sand and metal in his lorries. I have even attended his wedding. He was always dressed in white and a nice man. It’s a big shock that he is no more. I extent my deepest sympathy to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

What Kujuji said here is 💯 percent true...you like it or not...just look at the State of affairs in Mangalore, how it has been destroyed in all respects whether it is environment, infrastructure, culture, social harmony and concerns for one another irrespective of religious following that existed a decade ago. Next generation of Mangalore will have to face the problems....and more destruction is ahead. It's only matter of time...now relax and enjoy some golibaje, Pakoda and garam Chai.

Its tough to do business in Mangalore, there is no floating population in Mangalore nor employment generation, no new companies coming to Mangalore, even the there is a fall in students opting for mangalore colleges, thanks to the communal fights and hatred. Because of our useless politions and their lack of vision people have pay heavy price.

Maximum people in mangalore are in show off business. All fly in the air with their big expectation about future plans. Builders are more concerned about the car they go around with than their committment to on time completion of project. Anyway, watever personal reason this person had to committ suicide, may god give patience to family to bear the loss

Fully agree with your comments. ( Nothing to do with this case) I do not understand why people spend on big cars in Mangalore esp when the roads are many times narrower than the width of the car and there are parking problems. The value of cars depreciates very fast, the moment they come out of the showroom and it is a non productive expenditure. Big cars are expensive to maintain. No one praises a person having big cars on the contrary it gives rise to jealousy. No one helps a person when he is financially down. Earning is difficult, so one should spend carefully.

It is a short life. Here today, gone tomorrow. So each one is free to choose what they want to do with their money. There is no one rule that should fit all. If someone wants to enjoy the good things in life, so be it. It is not always to show off. If someone is jealous of another's big car/lifestyle etc, they seem to be the ones with the problem, not the ones spending their own hard earned money.

The correct ratio of number of dwelling units ( appartment, bungalow row house etc) to population is 1 dwelling unit for 4 persons - population. In Mangalore it is more than 2 dwelling units per person, So there is a huge oversupply, builders should not take the risk of putting money (usually after taking a loan) into buildings that cannot be sold.

Very true Monty; there is already a crazy oversupply of flats as well as individual houses; lots of properties both commercial and residential are on distress sale (please don't go by what vested interests say, but by the ground level situation)! Any builder still going in for massive construction projects by leveraging is putting him at highest risk of bankruptcy!! For a small city like Mangluru the threshold for houses has far been reached!!

RIP!! Assuming it's due to financial distress; Demo, forced sudden lockout, unplanned GST; the effects of which were lying suppressed/latent/dormant are coming to the fore now with a spate of suicides all over majorly due to financial distress; just a few days ago a very reputed art director from Karjat was forced to end his life for the same reason!! With a huge financial failure there is no chance of escape as all, once, near and dear ones run far far away.....
