Bantwal, Aug 15: Addressing the Independence Day celebration ceremony organized by the Bantwala Taluk National Festivals Celebration Committee, Bantwala MLA Rajesh Naik underscored the importance of fostering self-reliance at the village level. He urged everyone to embrace determination in their pursuit of this goal.
Presiding over the event at the BC Road administration building premises on Tuesday, Naik emphasized the need for proactive measures to support the endeavors of those engaged in benevolent initiatives.
The flag hoisting and Independence Day message were delivered by Bantwal tahsildar S B Koodalagi, who highlighted the significance of the country's integrity and sovereignty as sources of inspiration for all citizens.
Gangadhar Alva, the principal of Thumbe BA College, pointed out that patriotism shouldn't be limited to select occasions, like cricket matches between India and Pakistan or moments when our soldiers neutralize terrorists. Instead, he stressed that genuine patriotism should be practiced daily, becoming an ongoing source of inspiration for national sovereignty.
Nonaiah, assistant director of the Akshara Dasoha scheme, extended a warm welcome, and Dinesh, assistant director of the taluk panchayat, proposed a vote of thanks.
The event commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a captivating procession featuring various groups, including the police and home guards.
