Mangaluru: Elusive notorious accused nabbed from Bengaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 20: A man who had been absconding for over a year and a half, facing allegations in multiple cases, has been apprehended by the City Crime Branch (CCB) police.

The arrested individual is Mohammed Rafiq, also known as Mudipu Rafiq (36), a resident of Mudipu.

Rafiq was taken into custody in Hoskote, Bengaluru, and subsequently transferred to the women's police station.

Among the cases attributed to Rafiq are a theft case at Mulky police station, an attempted murder case at Barke police station, a POCSO case at the women's police station, a plot to commit dacoity case at the east police station, a kidnapping case at Konaje police station, and theft cases at Bantwal city police station, as well as at Manjeshwar, Kannur, and Talashery police stations in Kerala.

The operation was conducted by CCB ACP P A Hegde, police inspector Shyam Sundar, PSIs Sudeep M V and Sharanappa Bhandary, along with other personnel.
