Bantwal, Aug 20: Mud when it rains, dust when it's sunny... All in all, it's a nightmare for travellers commuting through Kalladka on the National Highway.
Due to the low intensity of rainfall on Sunday, Kalladka is covered with a thick layer of dust and the residents are in danger of contracting diseases.
Turning a blind eye to MP's instruction too..!??
Two days ago, the citizens of Kalladka had appealed to MP Nalin Kumar Kateel about the intensity of dust generated during the sunny weather. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, who directed the officials on the spot, said, "I saw the condition here when I was on my way to Bengaluru which was as per the complaints of the Kalladka people," he said expressing his ire against the company.
Kateel, who expressed his displeasure against KNRC which has taken over the contract said the contractor should carry out the work in the coming days until its completion in such a way that there is no room for any more complaints from the public.
He strictly instructed that two tankers be kept in the surroundings to prevent dust from rising. He had directed the highway department officials to take suitable remedial measures to solve the problem from the following day itself.
Following inaction by KNRC contract firrm, the roads became dusty on Sunday again.
