Mumbai: Malaika Co-op Credit Society Organizes Annual General Body Meeting

Mumbai, Aug 8: The 11th annual general body meeting and annual get-together of employees of Malaika Co-operative Credit Society was held at St Joseph’s Church auditorium, Mira Road (East), on Sunday August 7.

Malaika Group chairman and managing director Gilbert P Baptist presided over the programme on Sunday morning. In his presidential address, Baptist said that the Society has accepted fixed deposits to the tune of Rs 37.34 crore, advanced loans up to Rs 36.78 crore, and share capital of Rs 73.50 lac during the accounting year 2010–11.  He added that it has earned a profit of Rs 13.32 lac.

 

Baptist announced a dividend of 14 percent to the shareholders on the occasion. Mira Road parish priest Fr Dominic Vas was the chief guest who inaugurated the programme. Government certified auditor of co-operative societies C L Barge provided information on the existing scenario of the co-operative sector.

Mumbai Co-operative Societies senior consultant B R Shetty, T 3 Urban Developers Limited managing director V P Lobo, entrepreneurs Clipton D’Silva and Fredrick Mendonca, were the guests of honour present on the dais.

Benedicta Rebello, Peter D’Almeida, Charles Patrao, Helen D’Souza, Lawrence D’Souza Mulund, Murphy Rebello, Fredrick X Fernandes, Malaika Group representatives Lawrence Rodrigues Mulund, Felix D’Souza Malvani, and John G Mendonca Amboli were the specially invited guests.

Malaika Co-operative Credit Society CEO Marceline G Baptist felicitated the dignitaries. Society secretary Elsey J Rodrigues, treasurer Manohar R Shetty, members Dinesh T Poojary, Joseph R Lobo, Sushant S Sabat, Teja Ravindra Shetty, chartered accountant I H Chavan, manager Marcy D’Souza, Malaika Home Appliances senior manager Joseph Pinto, Alphonse Corda, and Noel Mascarenhas were present on the occasion.

Fr Deepak Thomas offered the Thanksgiving Mass before the annual general body meeting. Kenny and Sukreen musical troupe staged a musical concert on the occasion. Merlyn D’Sa rendered the prayers while Lawrence Alvares compeered the programme.
