Kasargod: High court orders to recruit teacher well versed in Kannada at Adoor govt school

Kasargod, Aug 25: The Kerala high court ordered to transfer the Malayali teacher who does not know Kannada to some other school and recruit a teacher who knows Kannada to teach Kannada division students of Adoor government higher secondary school of the district.

The verdict of the court is a huge setback for the Kerala government, education department and Kerala Loka Seva Ayog which is allegedly following an anti-Kannada policy since many years.

The social science subject was not taught for two months to Kannada medium student of Adoor school as the Malayali teacher who was recruited did not know the Kannada language. Last year for Uduma and Hoskote government high schools, teachers who know only Malayalam were recruited for Kannada sections.

The students and parents of Adoor and Uduma schools protested against the recruitment of Malayali teacher for Kannada division. They filed a complaint in Kerala high court. Now the high court has given a clear verdict to recruit only teachers who know Kannada for Kannada medium sections of government schools in the district.
