Mangaluru: Holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi in Dakshina Kannada on Sep 19, confirms DC

Mangaluru, Sep 14: Deputy commissioner (DC) Mullai Mugilan on Saturday September 16 confirmed the that government holiday on account of Ganesha Chaturthi in Dakshina Kannada (DK) will be on September 19.

Earlier in the week, district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao had instructed the chief secretary of the government and DC of DK to take necessary action to change government holiday on account of Ganesha Chaturthi from September 18 to 19.

Gundu Rao had issued instructions on the appeal of MLC Pratap Simha Nayak.

Further, Sharavu Raghavendra Shastri, administrative trustee of Sharavu Shri Mahaganapati temple of Mangaluru, K Sriramana Upadhyaya, administrative trustee of Anegudde Sri Vinayaka temple of Kundapur and Harish Rao Mundruppadi, president of management committee of Southadka Sri Mahaganapati temple had confirmed that Ganesha Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 19.

    Whether the holiday for Ganesh Puja on 19th sept 2023 as declared by govt. is also applicable for banks and other financial institutions OR still it is on 18th sept 2023 for the financial institutions. I feel it should be uniform for all.
