Mangaluru: Trio enter house, wield knife, rob gold chain from woman

Mangaluru, Sep 19: A gang of three men, who entered the house on the pretext of asking empty bottle to bring petrol, wielded knife at the woman and robbed Rs two lac worth gold Mangalasutra, the woman was wearing on her neck.

This shocking incident is reported from near Chandramoulishwara temple road of Kolnad, Mulki on Sunday.

Three men who arrived on a bike entered the house of Vasanti and asked her to give them an empty bottle in order to bring petrol from the bunk as they ran out of petrol in the bike. Vasanti gave them an empty bottle.

Later, the same men arrived and asked for one more bottle. As Vasanti brought another empty bottle and was about to come out, the gang wielded a knife at her and snatched the Mangalasutra chain from her neck. Though Vasanti screamed, the robbers made good their escape before the locals gathered.
