Mangaluru, Sep 22: In a splendid display of respect and reverence for the Hindi language, the Hindi Association at St Aloysius PU College observed Hindi Sapthah. The event was a well-coordinated series of activities designed to honor the significance of Hindi Diwas. These activities included a meticulously arranged rangoli competition, a lively Antakshari competition, a captivating Hindi folk dance competition, and an enlightening guest lecture by the esteemed Dr R Nagesh, the dean of arts and associate professor at St Agnes College.


The day commenced with a burst of creativity as students participated in a rangoli competition, crafting intricate and colorful designs. Next, the melodious notes of Hindi music filled the air during the Antakshari tournament. Students engaged in a friendly musical competition, demonstrating their knowledge of Hindi songs and lyrics. This activity not only celebrated the joy of Hindi music but also brought students together in the spirit of camaraderie.

The highlight of the event was the Hindi folk dance competition. Students transported the audience into the heart of India's diverse cultural landscape through their graceful and energetic performances. The intricate dance forms showcased the rich tapestry of Indian traditions and the unifying power of the Hindi language.

The finale featured an enlightening guest lecture by Dr R Nagesh, a distinguished academician. He provided valuable insights into the historical and contemporary significance of the Hindi language. He elaborated on the origins of Hindi Diwas and shed light on why it is celebrated on September 14. Dr Nagesh's engaging session involved interactive discussions with students, encouraging them to reflect on the international celebration of Hindi Diwas.
