Udupi: Man hurls stones at neighbour house, set auto-rickshaw on fire; arrested

Udupi, Sep 26: A man who had consumed ganja, hurled stones at his neighbour’s house and set an auto-rickshaw owned by his neighbour that was parked in front of the house on fire at Hanumanthanagar of Nittur in the city.

The accused is identified as Khaleem. The auto-rickshaw owned by Divakara Belchada, the neighbour of Khaleem is completely gutted in the incident.

When accused Khaleem hurled stones at the house of Divakar, Udupi police arrived on the spot and warned him. Once they left the spot, Khaleem poured diesel on the auto-rickshaw that was parked in front of the house of Divakar and set the vehicle on fire. Before the locals could douse the fire using water, the vehicle was completely gutted.

A case is filed against Khaleem in city police station and he is in police custody now.
