Mumbai: Vasai Konkani Welfare Association celebrates 16th Monthi Fest

Mumbai, Oct 4: Vasai Konkani Welfare Association and celebrated their 16th Monthi Fest on September 16 at Vishwakarma Hall, Vasai. Guests for the celebrations were Fr Peter Pereira (head of Carmelite Charitable Society, Rajhodi Nallasopara), VKWA advisor Jossie Menezes, former Presidents John D’Souza, Ancy Paladka, Stephan Fernandes, present committee president Reginald Santhmayer, secretary Albert D’Costa and treasurer Henry Pinto.

The programme started with a short procession with prayer dance by children, prayer by vice president Hilda D’Souza followed by a variety of stage cultural programmes like dance, skits and singing etc.



VKWA members’ children who secured 75% and above in class 10 and 12 and who secured prizes in extra curricular activities were felicitated. Masala milk mixed with Noven was served to all. Fr Peter Pereira blessed the ‘noven jevon’.

Along with all managing and ladies wing committee members, 350 people had gathered for the programme.

Joint secretary Jacintha Ambrose and coordinator conducted stage programmes and Oliver D’Souza Angelore compered the cultural stage programmes.  Reginald Santhmayer delivered the vote of thanks.
