Mexico City, Aug 21 (IANS/EFE): Mexican singer-songwriter and actress Anahi, former member of the pop group RBD, said she is not bothered or intimidated by the tabloid journalism and paparazzi harassment that can often make life unbearable for other celebrities.
"I've grown accustomed to living with that .. I don't have anything to hide in my life," Anahi said at a press conference Friday in Mexico City, although she added that she gets annoyed when lies are published in the tabloids that "affect other people".
The 28-year-old artist, whose full name is Anahi Giovanna Puente Portilla, made the remarks Friday while presenting the music video for the song "Click" to the media.
That track, in which Anahi is accompanied by the lead singers of Mexican band Moderatto, Bryan Amadeus, and Argentine electro pop group Miranda!, Ale Sergi, will be the theme song for the upcoming youth-oriented MTV Latin America telenovela "Popland!"
Regarding her career as a solo artist, Anahi said she plans to release a new album next year that may include guest appearances by Amadeus and Sergi.
Anahi is a cast member of the Mexican telenovela "Dos Hogares", which recently debuted and is being aired in Mexico by Televisa. She recorded "Click", as well as the video for that same song, a few days ago.
"Popland!" is the story of Carla, a young photographer from a small town who moves to the big city in search of a better life and ends up finding work as a paparazzi.
The show will feature Latin American and US actors such as Mexico's Sara Cobo and Ricardo Abarca, American Jon Ecker and Colombia's Manuel Gonzalez.
The "Click" video was uploaded to the official site of MTV Latin America and the Web site MTVmusica.com Friday and is to be included in the TV channel's regular video rotation starting Monday, MTV Mexico said.
"This collaboration with MTV has really been cool. It's been a really nice experience, especially because I've focused much more on music these last five years after I finished up the telenovela project 'Rebelde' and the RBD band," Anahi said.
"Popland!" is the second telenovela produced by MTV Latin America after the 2010 production "Ninas mal", which was based on a likenamed Mexican film released in 2007.
