Mangaluru, Oct 13: Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar hosted an insightful Faculty Development Program titled "Teachers and Outcome-Based Education" on October 13. The event, co-ordinated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college, saw the active participation of the teaching faculty, with a prominent resource person, Professor Rajan V N, the retired Principal of St Mary's College, Shirva.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome and introduction of the resource person by the principal of the college, Alex Ivan Sequeira. In his introductory remarks, he also emphasized the importance of the event in enhancing the quality of education provided by the institution.
The day-long faculty development program delved into the intricacies of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), a methodology gaining prominence in the education sector. Prof.Rajan also shared his extensive knowledge and experience in this field, shedding light on the principles, approaches, and implementation strategies of OBE. The engaging session provided valuable insights into aligning curriculum, teaching methodologies and assessments to achieve desired learning outcomes.
Robin Joseph Sera, the IQAC coordinator, took the stage to propose the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and participants for their enthusiastic involvement. The program was well-received by the faculty members, and it emphasized the institutions commitment of continuous improvement and innovation in education. The event concluded on a positive note, leaving the teaching staff motivated and well-equipped to integrate the Outcome-Based Education into their teaching practices.
