Udupi: St Mary’s Island opens for tourists from Oct 19

Udupi, Oct 19: Boat service to tourist spot of St Mary’s Island off the coast of Malpe will begin on October 19.

Four boats are kept ready near sea walk with all safety equipment. This information was given by Ganesh Malpe chief of the boats.

Every year, the district administration prohibits boat ride to St Mary’s Island from May 15 to September 15 due to the danger of high waves during monsoon time. This year the lifting of prohibition was delayed by one month due to the tender process.
