Sullia: Herd of wild elephants destroy crops

Sullia, Oct 19: Wild elephant menace has continued in Mandekolu village in the taluk.

A herd of wild elephants destroyed the farms of Chakote last week. In this week since three days crops are destroyed by the pachyderms in Chakote and Bolugallu.

Farm land of Jagadish was the most affected as the elephants destroyed arecanut, coconut and plantain trees. The pipes fitted for water are smashed.

Forest officials visited the spot and assessed the damage.
