Udupi observes Police Martyrs Day: Justice Shantaveer Shivappa calls for reduced casualties

Udupi, Oct 21: The Udupi district police marked Police Martyrs Day at Chandu Maidan in the city with District Sessions Court Judge, Justice Shantaveer Shivappa, as the chief guest. The solemn occasion featured a wreath-laying ceremony at the Police Martyr Memorial to pay homage to the fallen officers.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Shivappa highlighted the dedication and sacrifice of police personnel who often give their lives in the line of duty to uphold peace in society. He emphasized the need for people to collaborate with the police by adhering to law and order. Justice Shivappa also noted that the police department has access to state-of-the-art equipment and is well-trained, expressing hope that fewer officers would sacrifice their lives in the pursuit of their duties in the future.

The event saw the presence of DC Vidyakumari, ZP CEO Prasanna, CID IGP Praveen Madhukar Pawar, DCF Uday, SP Dr. Arun, ASP Siddalingappa, and other dignitaries.
