Mangaluru: Post-monsoon rains to intensify in coastal region from Nov 3

Mangaluru, Nov 2: Post-Monsoon rains have weakened in the coastal region. However, there is a possibility that they will intensify from November 3.

Good rains showered at Nintikal Kerpada on Wednesday night. Scattered rains were observed in some parts of Sullia and Kadaba taluks.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department yellow alert is declared from November 3 to 5. During these days heavy rains are expected to lash the coastal region.

A weather alternating between sun and clouds prevailed in the coastal region on Wednesday. The mercury was on the rise. In Mangaluru the highest temperature recorded was 30.9 deg C while the lowest was 24.4 deg C.

    So far all predictions have gone for a toss; already an unprecedented drought has been declared; NK being heavily rain deficient; most farmers from NK are migrating to other areas in search of work; in some places like Bellary, already there is no water to drink! Even DK has been declared as drought affected; residents will face the heat of acute water shortage by the year end with even borewells drying up, expected temperatures in summer are +2°C above usual due to El nino effect!! Residents have to be ready to face this situation after a long time!!

    Dont frighten the people by writing negatively. Put up positive thoughts and fill in courage into the hearts of readers. Its God's wish. It may rain again before December 2023. Or may rain early in Jan. When you said there wont be rain here, we got good rain in end of June and July. May god bless our ppl and make them strong and be humane and humble, in any situation that might arise in near future...

    No doubt that raining heavily will fill the ponds, rivers & Lakes & Oceans And the lovely atmosphere that fills the heart with romantic memories! Dance to the Rythm of rain drops and have a flash back of childhood days.

    All these years it rained normal and above normal.But this season it rained below average.Should be the end of the rain this season which will leave very shortly after Deepavali.Time for rain to say goodbye. See you again next year.
