Road crossing in busy centers of mangalore being challenging due to rash & negligence driving. Building a pedestrian bridge can indeed be a solution to avoid accidents and ensure the safety of pedestrians. MCC has to make a plan of constructing a pedestrian bridge in the busy centers of Mangalore

Traffic department and its issues should be resolved in Mangalore city by extensive meetings. Public members should be involved. Police personnel most of the time vigilent only to catch two wheelers but never trucks and buses for breaking rules or going in no entry. Kankanady old road supposed to be only for two, three wheeler and cars but have policemen seen how the way busses and lories go! People can't walk.

Stop the private bus lobby. Private buses create a lot of nuisance in mangalore. Over speeding , Causing accidents and not paying for damages. The lobby is also against signal lights in essential zones like nanthoor etc. Introduce government buses on all routes.

Very sad news and such news have become almost daily now. The people of Mangalore are well educated however have failed in taking few progressive steps in development and safety. The other day students from various college did walkathon for anti-drug. The same way why not all Manglorean public come on road to protest against the cops and the vehicle drives of Mangalore? It is not just with bus driver even any transport drivers do the same way, they are all got learning driving lessons from the same driving school I guess. Most people who drive I see, using cell phones and speaking while driving, overspeeding. No value for human life. In spite of so many cases we still have not learnt or do not want to take proper action. Here it is definitely either Police of Mangalore or any politician will never take any action. It is the public if we want our safety we must come on road and protest and get a strong law and order to save our lives as well as our loved ones.

Very right; the water has flown over the head; it's high time people start taking proactive steps in putting an end to this killer bus mafia; administration has totally failed to protect the taxpayers interests seeing the way innocent pedestrians are getting mowed down to death almost every day, which is too much for a small City like Mangalore!!

Speeding and reckless driving behavior of bus and tipper drivers has become the worst these days.... looks like there is full protection from owners' bodies and khakis together.... SPs coming new to city go behind bars providing liquor to guys little outside official hours... But they have their eyes shut to this worse than drunk lethal behavior... We will see many fatal accidents mostly innocent pedestrians if this menace is not curbed as a matter of red alert emergency....

These uneducated and illiterate drivers nobody can control. Best punishment is life time cancel his driving license at the same time arrest the owner of the bus because he appointed killer drivers without proper test. The rules should be if drivers kill the Pedestrian,,arrest the owners. Then only RTOand Traffic department can control this problems.

Prabhuji... You said it right... Owner should be prosecuted for any such accidents. . After all it is they who should be held responsible... BTW it may not be a surprise if our authorities come up with a incredible solution of asking road users to wear a helmet to be safe while on the road.

Out of your mind i guess, why arrest the owner? and why he has to take the drivers test, its the RTO who is responsible for this cos its them who issued the DL without proper test.

How do we even know that they have license. There was a so called meeting held, where it was mentioned that strict action will be taken against such instances, what has been done so far. Is it that we wait for such incident to happen and then take action or see to that such an incident does not happen.
