Mumbai, Aug 27 (IANS): When actress Kalki Koechlin was penning the script of her upcoming film "That Girl In Yellow Boots", she didn't know that the end of the film will cause major arguments between her and her husband Anurag Kashyap, who is also its director.
"The end was a big issue. Anurag and I completely disagreed on the end," Kalki told IANS.
"The film is very stark, grey, very numbing and depressing and I wanted that the main protagonist rises above it somehow, but Anurag wanted to show that this is a bad world and you don't always get solutions to your problems," she added.
"In a way he is right, I had to agree with him eventually because, if you have a happy ending then people go away satisfied but if there is a sad ending then people keep thinking about it. So that's more impactful in a way," Kalki said.
The film that also stars Naseeruddin Shah is slated for a Sep 2 release.
